Thanks to a blogger post on Typographica: a journal of typography, I found a fantastic font for programmers who spend 30 hours in front of the computer a day. A programmer has unique requirements in a font:

  • Must be easy to read
  • Fixed width to align text
  • Easily distinguishable between close letters/numbers like I (eye)
    and 1 (one), O (oh) and 0 (zero), W (double-you) and Q (que), er,
    wait, those are easy, etc…
  • Pleasant on the eyes, because we are reading it soooo much

The Anonymous font seems to fit that bill for me. I’ve just begun using, but have high hopes!
